Linlithgow art show is a success

"The first annual exhibition by the Linlithgow Art Collective showcasing the talents of local artists was a smash hit with art fans.

The Line Gallery has been home to a variety of paintings and art work since the exhibition opened on February 26 and chairman of the collective Peter Scott painted the night as a success.

He said: “The exhibition was fantastic and we had lots of visitors on the opening evening including MSP Fiona Hyslop and councillors David Tait and Tom Conn. “A big thank you to them for their support. We managed to make a few sales, but there are still plenty of bargains to be had.”

The aim of the art collective is to generate enough money to buy a warehouse for future generations of art students in Linlithgow to get creative in.

Peter said: “The town has so much creative talent and we need to support that and ensure it has an opportunity to be sustained locally. All 15 members of the collective are former graduates of art classes at Linlithgow Academy and consider the town to be their creative base."
